Day 10: Boat Cruise to Ballos-Gramvouse

The original water level line, and the indigo blue water.
Today we took a cruise to the islands of Ballos-Gramvouse. This was a big boat full of tourists. We began the trip and passed many small islands and rock formations. The water was a deep indigo blue it almost didn't look realistic. The rocks also had an old water line where the level of the water originally was. I wonder why the water had decreased so much?

Arriving at the island of Balos!

Gorgeous beach with the boats we took here.
The first island we arrived at was Ballos. It was the most beautiful and picturesque place I have ever seen in my life. The water and colors were beautiful. There was pink sand and the sea was pretty shallow and it was very clean and clear. I enjoyed walking around and taking pictures the time there. There were pools of water also some were really hot, which I was not to fond of, but it was still beautiful. The rest of the water was cool and refreshing. This was great because it was pretty hot that day.

First time I ever saw pink sand!

Gramvouse was also beautiful with crisp clear water.
The next island we traveled to was the island Gramvouse. This was also a beautiful island to see with lots of rocks in the shallow water and a clear blue sea. What was interesting about this island was that one person lived there. He has a house and his own living supplies. He lives there to keep watch for visitors. I asked how he gets his food and he eats mostly the first he catches.
The beach area, and you can see how
clear the water is.

The boat Gramvousa with the crew guy who runs this trip.
Back on the boat after that island the one crew guy explained the controls of the boat and also his title. He took us to show the safety equipment and the basic procedures to run a boat like this at sea. When we got back on land we headed back to Molos Bay Hotel to give a last goodbye and our thanks. This was a fun over night trip and I hope to go back to Chania during my time here.
